About the position

Chewy is seeking dedicated Pharmacists to join our 'neighborhood pharmacy' located in Louisville, KY at our Fern Valley facility. This role is pivotal in serving the needs of online pet parents, ensuring they receive the medications their veterinarians prescribe for their pets. As a Pharmacist at Chewy, you will be part of a passionate team committed to delivering exceptional care and wellness services to both pet parents and their pets. Your contributions will be essential in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, quality, and service within the pharmacy team. In this position, you will have the opportunity to participate in a hybrid work-from-home rotation, allowing for flexibility in your work environment. Your primary responsibilities will include the interpretation and verification of medication orders, ensuring that all prescriber medication orders are reviewed for potential issues such as dosing errors, scheduling conflicts, contraindications, allergies, drug interactions, and incompatibilities. You will also be responsible for effective communication with veterinarians, their staff, and pet parents as necessary. As a leader within the pharmacy, you will oversee and direct pharmacy technicians and interns, providing ongoing training and coaching to ensure high standards of service and compliance. Maintaining accurate records to meet Federal and State legal requirements, as well as pharmacy policies, will be a critical part of your role. You will uphold operational standards, including performance metrics, safety, and compliance, while also performing related duties as assigned by management. Please note that this position may require travel.

Responsibilities
? Interpret and verify medication orders.

? Review prescriber medication orders for potential issues such as dosing errors, contraindications, and drug interactions.

Requirements
? Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (RPh) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).

? Active pharmacy license in the state of Kentucky in good standing, as well as other states and credentials as required.

? Ability to lead a team effectively.

? Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

? Flexibility to work a variety of schedules including evenings, holidays, and weekends.
