About the position

Chewy is seeking dedicated Pharmacists to join our 'neighborhood pharmacy' located in Louisville, KY, specifically at our Fern Valley facility. This pharmacy is uniquely focused on serving the needs of online pet parents, ensuring they receive the medications and wellness products their veterinarians prescribe for their pets. As a Pharmacist at Chewy, you will play a crucial role in a team that is committed to delivering exceptional care and wellness services to both pet parents and their beloved pets. Your contributions will be vital in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, quality, and service within the pharmacy team. In this position, you will have the opportunity to participate in a hybrid work-from-home rotation, allowing for flexibility in your work environment. Your primary responsibilities will include the interpretation and verification of medication orders, ensuring that all prescriptions are accurate and safe for use. You will review prescriber medication orders to identify any potential issues such as dosing errors, scheduling conflicts, contraindications, allergies, drug interactions, and incompatibilities. Effective communication with veterinarians, their staff, and pet parents will be essential to ensure that all parties are informed and that the best care is provided. Additionally, you will oversee and direct pharmacy technicians and interns, providing them with ongoing training and coaching to enhance their skills and performance. Maintaining necessary records to comply with Federal and State legal requirements, as well as pharmacy policies, will be a critical aspect of your role. You will also be responsible for upholding operational standards, including performance metrics, safety, and compliance. As part of your duties, you may be assigned related tasks as directed by management, and the position may require some travel.

Responsibilities

Requirements
? Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (RPh) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).

? Active pharmacy license in the state of Kentucky in good standing, along with other required state licenses and credentials.
