Job Summary As a Solution Area Specialist, you will play a critical role in driving digital transformation by providing technical expertise and consumer insights to our customers. You will engage in sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation, maintenance, and other integrated solutions of Microsoft products. You will promote adoption of technology by helping users optimize specialized solutions, demonstrate features beyond core functionality, disseminate technical information on complex applications, and provide guidance on best practice adoption. Key Responsibilities Provide technical expertise and consumer insights to drive digital transformation and promote adoption of Microsoft technologies. Engage in sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation, maintenance, and other integrated solutions of Microsoft products. Serve as a subject matter expert in pre- or post-sales production environments and resolve complex applications problems, system administration issues, or network concerns. Coordinate with stakeholders to assess utilization of Microsoft technologies and prepare detailed product specifications for the development and integration of solutions. Troubleshoot frontline technical readiness and process compliance to accelerate scalability. Advise stakeholders on the installation and support related to systems, networks, or data communications technologies and conduct related product capability assessments and validation. May build a mini-application based on customer requirements, which involves rapid prototyping or product demonstration. May collaborate with cross-functional teams to research market conditions, gather information, and determine potential sales of a product or service, or create a marketing campaign. May analyze information on competitors, prices, sales, and methods of marketing and distribution. Requirements and Qualifications Education A Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Information Systems, Physics, or a related field is required. A 3 or 4-year bachelor's degree is also acceptable. Experience 60 months of experience in any computer-related occupation is required. Alternatively, one additional year of experience in any computer-related occupation is acceptable in lieu of a Bachelor's degree. Specific Skills Requirements The following skills are required: 60 months of experience in Azure, AWS, GCP, Data Structures, Data Warehousing, SQL, and/or T-SQL, and SQL Server. Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong technical expertise in Microsoft technologies, including Azure, AWS, GCP, Data Structures, Data Warehousing, SQL, and/or T-SQL, and SQL Server. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders. Strong business acumen and understanding of market trends and competitor analysis. Compensation, Perks, and Benefits The offered base pay range for this specific position (job code TSMAM17639), in New York, NY, is $211,010 to $241,010. Microsoft has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. At Microsoft, certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus, and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role. U.S.-based employees have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, and wellbeing benefits, among others. U.S.-based employees also receive, per calendar year, up to 10 scheduled paid holidays, and up to 80 hours Holistic Health Time Off. Additionally, hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid vacation time, and salaried/exempt employees have Discretionary Time Off (DTO).
