Position Summary • Directs, manages, and coordinates risk control activities. Recruits, selects, evaluates, and develops risk control staff. • All Employees thatwork remotely must have access to internet service bandwidth speedsthat meet ERIE's requirements. • This is a remote position with potential to manage Risk Control field consultants operating in multiple territories of PA, NY, MD, OH, and WV. It is preferred for ideal candidate to reside within the assigned territory. • A company vehicle is provided Duties and Responsibilities • Manages overall operations of designated area of authority. Interviews, hires, trains and directs personnel. Prepares and conducts performance assessments, coordinates discipline and oversees Employee development as required. • Supervises the risk control and risk assessment process to ensure appropriate risk selection and expense management in order to achieve growth, profitability and customer service objectives. • Assists the vice president in developing short-range objectives, budgets and tactical plans to ensure alignment with ERIE's corporate strategy. • Collaborates with commercial lines product managers and marketing staff on competitive issues, including rate reviews and rate recommendations. • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with branch sales, claims and commercial underwriting functions. Includes contributing to discussions between underwriting, risk control and sales functions on strategies for acquiring and renewing key customers. • Monitors adherence to and effectiveness of internal controls and compliance guidelines through self-audits procedures and practices. Additional Experience • Working knowledge of risk control practices preferred. • Supervisory experience preferred. • Ability to travel. • Some overnight trips required. • Incumbent must live in territory assigned unless a change is approved by the company. Designations and/or Licenses • A professional Risk Management designation (ARM, CRM, CIC, CPCU, ALCM, ASP or CSP) preferred. • Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
