Researcher IV (Part Time) - Cherokee Nation Businesses - Davie, FL - work from home job Company: Cherokee Nation Businesses Job description: Job Description: Researcher IV (Part TIme) The Researcher IV will work for the USGS Wetland and Aquatic Research Center (WARC). The Researcher IV will play a crucial role in conducting field surveys, sample collections, and data analysis related to reptile ecology and environmental monitoring. This position involves both fieldwork in remote locations and laboratory work, making it ideal for individuals with a strong background in biology, data management, and a passion for wildlife conservation. Compensation & Benefits: Estimated Starting Salary Range for Researcher IV: $27.50 per hour Pay commensurate with experience. Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice. Researcher IV Responsibilities Include: • Leading field tasks such as acquiring biological and environmental data, collecting samples, and installing study plots. • Assisting in laboratory tasks including sample preparation, data entry, and database management. • Maintaining field equipment and preparing tracking devices for field deployment. • Contributing to research permit renewals, reports, and manuscript drafting. • Managing data, including acoustic and satellite data, and creating maps. • Ensuring accurate and complete data records and cataloging of information. • Rapidly resolving problems related to data management and equipment use. • Fieldwork in remote locations and laboratory work • Performs other job-related duties as assigned Researcher IV Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: • Bachelor's Degree in biology, or a related field. • Experience with reptile ecology, safe capture, species identification, and handling. • Proficiency in scientific data collection and database interaction. • Ability to work independently in the field and follow established guidelines. • Data management • Strong physical fitness for strenuous field activities. • Valid driver's license required for local travel. • Current certification in First Aid and CPR. • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal Company Information: Cherokee Nation System Solutions (CNSS) is a part of Cherokee Federal - the division of tribally owned federal contracting companies owned by Cherokee Nation Businesses.
