The SCALE Initiative of the Stanford Accelerator for Learning, housed at Stanford Graduate School of Education, is seeking a Research & Data Coordinator to work on our team. The SCALE initiative works to equalize and improve educational opportunities for students by supporting implementation of the most promising educational practices. This position will provide data support for several fast-paced research projects within the SCALE Initiative, including National Student Support Accelerator research projects. This position is a 1-year fixed term appointment based on Stanford University's main campus. Consideration will be given to a hybrid work schedule (partially onsite and offsite work), subject to operational need. Responsibilities • Support the collection, management, and cleaning of data, including interview data. • Design and customize reports based upon data in the database. • Support the oversight and monitoring of regulatory compliance for utilization of the data. • Contribute to the overall research program, including support and oversight of IRBs and DUAs. • Assist with the development and design of research findings for written reports to internal and external stakeholders. • Conduct literature searches, and write literature summaries and manuscripts, as requested by the Director of Research and/or Faculty Lead. • Employ new and existing tools to interpret, analyze, and visualize relationships in data. • Create databases and reports and perform analyses appropriate to data and reporting requirements. • Serve as a resource for non-routine inquiries such as requests for statistics or surveys. • Collaborate with and support faculty and research staff on data collection and analysis methods. • Participate in project planning and strategic thinking for overall growth and direction of research teams' projects and activities. Requirements • Bachelor of Arts degree in an applicable social science related field, or combination of education and relevant experience in an applicable social science. • General understanding of scientific theory and methods, typically gained through completion of an undergraduate degree in a related field. • General computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master computer programs. • Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance. • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to complete detailed work accurately. • Effective oral and written communication skills. • Ability to work with human study participants. Nice-to-haves • Prior experience conducting interviews for research purposes, particularly with educators, education leaders and policy makers as participants. • Understanding of and/or prior experience working within the US public K-12 education system. • Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects. • Prior experience communicating findings to diverse audiences, in both oral and written formats.
