Overview Our client, a major PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Services) entity owned by 20 non-profit health plans serving > 33 million members and benefits manager of government programs including Medicare and Medicaid, seeks an accomplished Pharmacist Job Title : Pharmacist Location : 100% Remote (Must reside in California) Duration : 6-month contract with potential extension Pay Rate : $50 – $55 / hr (Depending on experience) Start Date : Monday, November 3, 2025 Schedule : • Working Days : 5 days / week, coverage required Monday–Sunday • Shift Times : Start times vary between 8 : 00 AM – 12 : 30 PM • Training : Monday–Friday, 8 : 30 AM – 5 : 00 PM (4 weeks, camera required) Must-Have Requirements : • PharmD; Registered Pharmacist in California (CA License required) • Quiet, distraction-free home office • Secure, hard-wired internet connection (LAN cable provided; Wi-Fi not permitted due to PHI regulations) • Camera usage mandatory during training and meetings Job Summary : The Pharmacist will perform prospective and retrospective drug utilization review and appeals in compliance with State and Federal regulations. This role involves distributing clinical drug information, educating providers and staff, and ensuring adherence to corporate policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Responsibilities : • Provide prior-authorization services for formulary drugs • Develop and implement programs to optimize pharmacy care • Conduct drug utilization reviews and retrospective reimbursement assessments • Make evidence-based medication regimen recommendations to providers • Assist providers with accurate dispensing and billing • Collaborate with clinical personnel on treatment guidelines and formulary management • Ensure compliance with Federal / State laws and pharmacy standards of practice • Maintain accurate pharmacy records • Stay current with pharmacotherapy knowledge through continuing education and training • Participate in mandatory on-call rotation as business needs require • Handle inbound and outbound calls related to medication reviews, prior authorizations, product awareness, and patient care coordination Qualifications : • Education : PharmD • Licensure : Current and valid California Pharmacist License (in good standing) • Certifications : RPh or PharmD, State Licensure – Pharmacy Recruiter Contact Info Sajag Bhardwaj [email protected] www.ameritconsulting.com I'd love to talk to you if you think this position is right up your alley, and assure prompt communication, whichever direction.
