Job Description: Tavant is seeking a seasoned AI Consultant to support our Mortgage Engineering Services practice. This role blends mortgage domain expertise, AI strategy, and pre-sales leadership to shape transformative solutions for lenders, servicers, and aligned partners. The ideal candidate understands the mortgage lifecycle end-to-end, recognizes where AI is creating measurable impact today, and can articulate how emerging capabilities—generative AI, agentic automation, predictive modeling, and document intelligence—will reshape the industry. You will collaborate with sales, delivery, data science, and engineering teams to lead client conversations, design mortgage-specific AI use cases, facilitate workshops, and craft verticalized offerings aligned to Tavant’s AI strategy. This is a client-facing, high-visibility role requiring a strong mix of business insight, communication skills, and technical awareness. Responsibilities Client Advisory & Pre-Sales Leadership • Lead discovery conversations, requirements analysis, and solution shaping for AI-driven mortgage modernization. • Serve as the strategic advisor to lenders and servicers on AI adoption, capability roadmaps, and process automation. • Drive the creation of proposals, RFP responses, value narratives, and client-facing collateral. • Conduct executive briefings and represent Tavant’s AI capabilities in customer meetings and industry forums. Mortgage Domain & Business Expertise • Apply deep understanding of the mortgage lifecycle—origination, underwriting, closing, secondary, servicing, QC/QC+, risk & compliance, default/collections. • Identify operational inefficiencies and translate them into AI-enabled opportunities. • Stay current on MISMO standards, UMDP, GSE initiatives, regulatory requirements, and ecosystem platform trends. AI Strategy, Use Case Ideation & Solution Design • Define mortgage-specific AI/ML/genAI use cases for front, middle, and back office. • Create solution architectures in collaboration with DataOps, MLOps, and engineering teams. • Build ROI models, maturity assessments, and adoption roadmaps tailored to client readiness. • Shape verticalized AI service offerings and reusable frameworks for the mortgage business. Workshop Facilitation & Thought Leadership • Lead AI strategy workshops, ideation sessions, and deep-dive assessments. • Educate clients on AI/ML patterns, agent-based solutions, governance frameworks, and responsible AI. • Produce playbooks, whitepapers, and thought leadership specific to mortgage AI transformation. Data, Systems & Platform Awareness • Understand LOS/servicing platforms, pricing/eligibility engines, document management systems, appraisal/valuation data, and third-party integrations. • Advise on how these systems can leverage data pipelines, workflow automation, and embedded AI/ML capabilities. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Partner with solution architects, delivery leaders, data scientists, and engineering teams throughout the sales cycle. • Support development of demos, PoCs, pilots, and accelerators that strengthen Tavant’s mortgage AI portfolio. Required Qualifications & Skills Experience • 8+ years in mortgage technology, consulting, AI services, or a related financial services advisory role. • Demonstrated pre-sales experience—leading workshops, crafting proposals, defining solutions, and supporting deal cycles. • Hands-on familiarity with AI/ML concepts (predictive modeling, document intelligence, generative AI, agentic automation) and their application in the mortgage industry. • Experience working with LOS (Encompass, ICE, Blend, MeridianLink), servicing platforms, pricing/eligibility engines, and workflow tools. Domain Knowledge • Deep understanding of mortgage operations: borrower experience, underwriting, credit/risk processes, QC, servicing, escrow, default, and regulatory considerations. • Knowledge of GSE guidelines, MISMO data standards, and UMDP modernization initiatives.
