Lead Dispatcher - Weekends

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Dispatcher to join our dynamic logistics team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient transportation operations by managing the dispatching of freight and coordinating with drivers, clients, and other stakeholders. This position requires strong communication skills, analytical abilities, and proficiency in various transportation management systems. Shift Saturday - Sunday 7 am - 7 pm EST Duties • Oversee daily dispatch operations to ensure timely and efficient delivery of freight. • Utilize GIS and GPS technologies to optimize routing and monitor fleet performance. • Coordinate with drivers to provide clear instructions and support during transportation planning. • Manage logistics processes, including shipping & receiving, fleet management, and 3PL operations. • Analyze data related to transportation management to identify areas for improvement. • Maintain accurate records through data entry in systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine. • Handle multi-line phone systems effectively, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette while communicating with clients and team members. • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during dispatch operations. Skills • Proficiency in transportation management systems and logistics software. • Strong analysis skills to assess operational efficiency and implement improvements. • Experience with dispatching processes, freight management, and supply chain logistics. • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients. • Typing proficiency for accurate data entry and record keeping. • Familiarity with AS400 systems is a plus. • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
