About the Role We are seeking sales-focused professionals who have a proven track record of supporting customers in their purchasing decisions. As a Sales Generalist at Wayfair, you will apply your sales experience to drive business outcomes through high-quality customer interactions. Your effective communication skills and product knowledge will help in advising customers in making confident buying decisions while meeting or exceeding sales performance expectations. Key Details Position Type: Full-Time Base Pay: $15.00 hourly Performance Bonus: Uncapped monthly incentives Expected Total Compensation: Approximately $23/hour including bonuses Location: Remote (Work from home) Schedule: Variable shifts including potential weekend and evening hours Equipment: Company-provided Required Experience: Minimum 1 year in sales Important Note : This position is strictly for sales activities and is different from customer service. Past experience in sales is required. Core Responsibilities Sales Volume Management Receive 40-50 incoming sales calls daily Work in a high-speed virtual environment Rapport with customers quickly while responding to questions and completing a sale Professional Conduct Attend work consistently and be on time Communicate proactively regarding changes in schedule or difficulties Manage time effectively Customer Interaction Utilize active listening Provide clear, concise information Create positive customer experiences to promote loyalty Supplier Coordination Contact product suppliers as necessary Gather detailed product information not available on the website Provide complete customer solutions Sales Methodology Utilize established sales procedures Conduct effective questioning Close the sale confidently Build customer relationships Strategic Selling Analyze the needs of each individual customer Offer suggestions for additional products that complement the customer's purchase Maximize sales through up-selling and cross-selling Performance Standards Meet operational standards Performance-based compensation Emphasis on constant improvement Workspace Requirements Maintain an environment free from distractions Give complete attention during customer interactions Conduct yourself professionally while on shift Technical Capabilities Be familiar and comfortable with numerous software platforms Cope with technology changes and updates Deal with unexpected technical problems Use many different communication tools Team Engagement Compete in sales competitions Attend training to improve performance Contribute to the team culture Promote a collaborative atmosphere Seasonal Flexibility Flexible scheduling to accommodate peak seasons and volumes Available for required overtime during peak times Qualification Requirements Experience 1+ year of successful sales experience Proven track record of meeting performance metrics Preferred background in call center, retail, or virtual sales Training Commitment Must complete mandatory sales training program No absences or schedule modifications permitted during training Technical Requirements Hardwired internet connection required Minimum 25Mbps download/5Mbps upload speeds WiFi connections not permitted Company provides necessary equipment Technical Skills Proficiency with multiple software platforms Experience with: Google Workspace Microsoft Office Email systems Video conferencing tools Team collaboration software Multi-screen operations Spreadsheet applications Workspace Requirements Private, dedicated home office space Environment free from distractions No background noise sources Educational Background High school diploma or equivalent required Bachelor's degree preferred but not required Additional Requirements Proven flexibility in a fast-paced environment Strong multitasking skills Ability to handle multiple customer interactions simultaneously Must pass pre-employment assessment
