We work with unemployed youth who are not in school, helping them earn their GED or high school diploma while gaining hands-on job training and personal development. As a Classroom Assistant, you?ll play a key leadership role in both the classroom and on vocational sites. You'll be a role model, guiding at-risk teens and young adults, tutoring, preparing lesson plans, and helping create meaningful service projects. Our AmeriCorps members serve 1,700 hours full-time (M-F, 8-5), receive a living stipend, health benefits, and an educational award. Member Duties : GED Classroom Assistants must be role models and provide leadership for at-risk teens and young adults. You will be assisting the teacher in a credit recovery/vocational training program. Classroom duties include tutoring, preparing & presenting lesson plans, assisting with group projects, documentation, redirecting students, & helping students access community resources. Applicants should be 18-28 years old, have experience working with youth and a desire to work in an educational setting. $2400/monthly stipend
