Freelance PR & Campaign Strategist – National Science-Based Awareness Campaign** A National wildlife conservation organization is seeking a senior freelance PR and communications strategist to help translate two science-based campaign concepts into a cohesive, public-facing awareness campaign. This project focuses on countering fear-based misinformation and building public understanding of the ecological and public-benefit role of mountain lions. We are looking for a strategic thinker who can shape narrative, messaging, and earned-media framing—and collaborate with design support to bring the campaign to life. This is a short-term project with potential for follow-on work. Scope of Work The selected consultant will: • Refine and strengthen two core campaign narratives: Fear vs. Facts** (myth-busting, comparative risk) When Lions Thrive, Landscapes Heal(ecosystem and public benefit framing) • Develop campaign messaging, headlines, and tagline hierarchy • Translate scientific and ecological concepts into clear, accessible public language • Advise on visual storytelling • Produce a concise campaign toolkit, which may include: • Messaging framework • Headline and tagline set • Media pitch angles and talking points • Visual concepts or creative brief for designers Ideal Background We are looking for someone with: • Proven experience in public relations and communications strategy • Background in nonprofit, advocacy, public health, environmental, or science-based campaigns • Strong understanding of narrative framing, and public perception • Experience translating complex or technical information for general audiences • Ability to work independently and deliver polished, strategic outputs Skills • Public Relations Strategy • Communications Strategy • Campaign Messaging • Media Relations • Nonprofit Communications • Advocacy Communications • Storytelling -Project Details • **Contract type:** Fixed price (preferred), with milestones • **Estimated duration: 4–6 weeks • **Start: As soon as possible • **Budget:Please propose based on scope Please include: 1.
