About the Role: Substitute Teacher in Hoboken We're expanding our team and have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our network in Hoboken, NJ. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in various educational settings, including elementary, middle, and high schools. Adapt to different classroom environments and teaching styles, ensuring a smooth learning experience for students. Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, teachers, and school staff. Effectively manage classroom behavior and create a conducive learning environment. Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your dedicated Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback, develop your skills, and align with your preferences. Engage in ongoing professional development through free online training sessions, covering topics such as trauma-informed teaching and classroom management. Essential Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits. Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor. NJ Substitute Credential. Background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this). Full COVID-19 vaccination. A passion for education and putting students first. An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a substitute teacher or in a related educational role. Special education experience or certification. Subject-specific expertise in areas like Math, Science, English, or Special Education. Skills and Competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility and adaptability in dynamic educational environments. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.
