Agronomist - Remote

Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and forward-thinking Agronomist to join their fully remote agricultural technology team. This position offers the unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in crop science and agricultural practices from anywhere in the US. You will play a crucial role in advising farmers, optimizing crop yields, and promoting sustainable agricultural methods through our innovative platform and consulting services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of soil science, plant physiology, pest management, and crop rotation, coupled with excellent communication and analytical skills. Responsibilities: Provide expert advice and recommendations to farmers on crop planning, planting, fertilization, irrigation, and pest/disease management. Analyze soil and crop data to develop customized management plans for optimal yield and quality. Conduct research and field trials to evaluate new crop varieties, fertilizers, pesticides, and farming techniques. Monitor crop health and growing conditions, identifying potential issues and recommending timely interventions. Educate clients on best practices for sustainable agriculture, soil health, and environmental stewardship. Utilize agricultural software and data analysis tools to interpret field data and generate reports. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in agronomy, agricultural technology, and regulatory changes. Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., R&D, sales) to enhance product offerings and services. Troubleshoot agricultural challenges reported by clients and provide effective solutions. Maintain accurate records of client interactions, recommendations, and outcomes. Qualifications: Master's degree or Ph.D. in Agronomy, Soil Science, Plant Science, or a closely related agricultural field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in practical agronomy or crop consulting. In-depth knowledge of crop physiology, soil chemistry, entomology, and plant pathology. Experience with agricultural data analysis software and precision agriculture technologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences. Proven ability to work independently and manage a remote workload effectively. Familiarity with a wide range of crop types and agricultural systems. Certification as a Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) is a strong plus. Willingness to travel occasionally for field visits or client meetings, if required.
